About GridGuys

What GridGuys is — and what it is not

GridGuys is a commercial electrical lead-connect platform. It exists to make it simpler for UK businesses to describe a commercial or industrial electrical requirement once and have that enquiry routed toward a relevant electrical contractor.

GridGuys is not an electrical contractor. We do not employ electricians, carry out installation or testing work, or issue certificates. Electrical work is undertaken by the independent contractor your enquiry is passed to, who deals with you directly and is responsible for their own pricing, competence, insurance and compliance.

Why GridGuys exists

Finding a contractor for commercial electrical work is different to booking a domestic electrician. The requirement usually involves supply capacity, distribution equipment, testing obligations, access constraints and programme — and it often sits with someone who is buying electrical work alongside many other responsibilities.

GridGuys is built around that reality. The enquiry form captures the details a commercial contractor actually needs — site postcode, building type, scope, timeframes, drawings and photographs — so the requirement can be understood and priced from real information rather than a phone description.

Who GridGuys helps

Businesses and site occupiers

Companies that need electrical work carried out at their own premises — from a single distribution board to a full fit-out or three-phase upgrade.

Facilities and estates teams

In-house FMs and estates managers coordinating testing programmes, remedial works, planned maintenance and reactive repairs across one or more buildings.

Property and managing agents

Agents and landlords arranging electrical work in common parts, tenanted units and multi-let buildings, often across a portfolio.

Main contractors and project teams

Construction and fit-out teams looking for electrical packages to be priced as part of a wider project.

Enquiries the platform is designed to handle

GridGuys is focused on commercial, industrial and infrastructure work rather than domestic jobs. The categories below are the core of the platform, each with a dedicated page in our commercial electrical services hub.

  • New commercial and industrial electrical installations
  • Three-phase supplies, capacity upgrades and power distribution
  • EICR and fixed wire testing, plus the remedial works that follow
  • Warehouse and factory electrical installations and refits
  • Commercial and workplace EV charging infrastructure
  • Switchgear, infrastructure and critical power (UPS and generators)
  • Data centre and technical environment electrical services
  • Planned maintenance and ongoing testing arrangements

How the platform operates

You submit the requirement through the enquiry form. GridGuys reviews the information supplied and, where appropriate, routes the enquiry toward a contractor whose stated services and coverage appear relevant. The contractor then handles the technical discussion, any site assessment, the quotation and the work itself.

The full journey is set out on how it works, and our approach to matching is explained on contractor selection. How enquiry information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
